Happy 30th Birthday Internet!

On March 12, 1989 British engineer, Tim Berners- Lee wrote a proposal for what is now known as the World Wide Web. This day in history has changed our lives in more ways than one. CPS would not be of existence without this such important piece of technology for starters. To celebrate such a large internet milestone are some facts that most probably don’t know:

  1. The first website when online August 6, 1991 which was http://info.cern.ch
  2. Archie was the first internet search engine
  3. Jean Armour Polly was the person who came up with term “surfing the internet”
  4. Most people think the terms internet and web are the same which it is not
